I'm afraid your logic escapes me.
If you display two pages on the screen at once, in landscape orientation, then generally speaking you'll be seeing
less text than if you were viewing a single page in portrait orientation. That's because there is more white space around two pages than around one. Viewing double pages will therefore result in
more page turns, and a
shorter battery life.
Can you explain how you think it would actually extend battery life?
