Ho-ho!
Amazon has pulled off an interesting coup:
Several (most?) Windows systems (tablets, laptops, and desktops) will come with Kindle for Win8 pre-installed:

Amazon has released a Kindle app for Windows 8, and many major PC manufacturers are preinstalling it on their new Windows devices.

The e-reader app, which will run on both Windows 8 and Windows RT, was revealed on Thursday as Microsoft officially launched the x86 and ARM-based versions of its next-generation operating system.

Manufacturers preinstalling the Kindle app on their PCs and tablets include Samsung, Dell, Lenovo, HP, Acer and Asus.

"We're excited to make the best content selection, along with all of the benefits of the Kindle ecosystem, available on Windows 8," Kindle chief Dorothy Nicholls said in a statement. "We're thrilled that leading manufacturers have selected the Kindle ecosystem for preload on their new Windows 8 devices."
You won't even have to go to the Winapp Store to get the Kindle app.
So much for Microsoft putting Nook on Win8 systems.
