That is likely their intent; drag it out so they can keep on doing business as usual as long as possible.
One problem with that strategy; the DOJ can shortcircuit the appeals process by petitioning directly to the SCOTUS. That is what they did in the Microsoft case. In that event the case could be over as early as october.
