Kindle Touch Custom Screensaver Problems

Hey folks. A while ago I jailbroke my non-ad Kindle Touch with no hassle. The whole reason I wanted to jailbreak it was so that I could use custom screensavers. This has not been the case.

I jailbroke, installed the required package, and placed all my properly named (triple checked!) 600X800 .png greyscale files into the screensaver folder, and rebooted. I have bg_xsmall_ss00 through bg_xsmall_ss27. However, when pushing the screensaver button, it simply displays the last displayed screen, but acts as if it were a screensaver (no touch screen or button input) and pushing the button again flashes the screen and brings up the actual page.

After much googling to no avail, I decided to make an account here and ask for help. Anyone?
