FWIW, I was able to download wirelessly to my NC in minutes, no problems at all. And I was even connected to my sprint cellular service for data connectivity at the time. About the expected download speed. My file was also 32MB.
Perhaps the wireless network your NC was connected to was not good.
If you have wireless issues, you can download speedtest app to your NC and double check that your wireless connection is solid.
