Its business and it comes down to a few quesitons.
For Amazon
1. Will denying audible support to B&N hurt the nook?
2. Will denying audible support to B&N take away from audibles business?
For B&N
1. Will denying audible support on the nook hurt Audible/Amazon?
2. Will allowing audible support on our device sell units?
From Amazon's standpoint it pretty much nets them nothing, and removes a possible market to penetrate.
From B&N's standpoint it does deny Amazon/Audible easier access to its user base, but it also denies themselves easier access to audibles user base.
In the end it probably wouldn't significantly hurt either one by denying, but it will effect the bottom-line of the company by denying each other marketing exposure, and thus would not be in each others best interest.
That is at least my armchair CEOing.
