Correct. Same screen contrast, speed, and text sizes as the 505. It's a simpler, more 'pocketable' device. I wouldn't call it "introductory"--it will replace my 505 (which replaced my 500), but I never used the mp3 function or memory cards, so the only thing I'm giving up is a couple of additional page-turn button options (and gaining internal memory).
