non è un problema di DRM, è un problema di come sono fatti gli ebook. Un ePub è in realtà una cartella zippata che contiene una serie di files(prova a sostituire .eub con .zip in un ePub senza DRM e vedrai).
Se questi files sono troppo grossi, il tempo per girare pagina diventa via via più lungo man mano che prosegui nella lettura. Sul computer questo rallentamento è impercettibile, ma sui lettori può portare al blocco.

Segnalerei le lentezze ai rispettivi editori, specificando il tipo di lettore usato e magari esortandoli a non usare DRM bensì Watermark per la protezione dei loro prodotti
