We have long thought about how to deal with OEM devices (and also discussed it in public), and concluded that most end users don't care whether their device is OEM or not. They are coming to Mobileread to look for info on their specific device and if they don't find the info, they move on.
I don't claim that we have found the perfect solution yet, but for now, we take the community as a benchmark for whether a dedicated section is justified. We see more activity around the Astak than, let's say, the Papyre, and hence the decision to add a section for the Astak reader. Should it turn out that we misjudged demand, we'll have to reconsider again.
