Yes, when my husband started to show an interest in the Fire, I told him more or less the same. So, I got him the Lenovo Ideapad A1. Which is cheaper and has all the features the Fire is missing, such as volume buttons, SD-card slot and Android Market access... Especially as I found out I can order from Amazon.de without paying S&H (which made Amazon.de around €50 cheaper than any other Dutch webstore which carried the device)
