2001 ist eines de besten Beispiele dafür, dass es fast schon egal ist, ob die Buchvorlage besser ist. Der Film ist so bildgewaltig, dass sich diese Ästhetik nie in geschriebener Form darstellen ließe.

Mir ist es daher auch eher wichtig, dass der Film in erster Linie ein guter Film ist, und nicht ein guter Film zum Roman. Was habe ich von einem schlechten Film, der als gute Romandaption gepriesen wird? Wozu sollte ich ihn mir antun?
