Calibre comic conversion yields poor results when target is epub; looks fine on LRF
Attached are three files: two pages of the original comic (rename to .cbz to open with your preferred comic reader), a conversion to epub, and a conversion to lrf.
Both have been converted without any additional settings/tweaks, just a straight convert > OK. In the comic input section on both conversions no boxes have been checked and the number of colors were set to 64.
On the epub version, Calibre converted the first page to a cover page and added it (thus the larger filesize) and this cover page looks great (different rendering process??). The remaining two pages look blocky, the dithering looks off, and the text is nearly unreadable in places.
The LRF version looks fine, like I expect Calibre-converted files to look.
Any idea? I don't mind converting to lrf but would prefer epub.
edit: to see what I mean, load the files on your reader. I don't know if it is as obvious using Calibre's viewer.
