First, welcome to Mobileread.
If I understand your question you are looking for an app that will work well with your Android tablet and is also supported by a dedicated book reader. In that case, there are several. In fact, almost all of them. The eInk book readers listed below have six-inch touch screens.
Barnes and Noble [
http://www.barnesandnoble.com] offers a free book reader app for Android and they also sell a touch controlled stand alone "nook" with a six-inch eInk screen. It uses ePub formatted books available from B&N's online bookstore as well as eBooks purchased from the Sony Reader store, Books On Board and several other Internet bookstores that sell books in the ePub format. Sony [
http://ebookstore.sony.com] makes several models of touch screen book readers. You need to download their proprietary software to
buy books from the Sony online store but the nook app or the kobo app (next) should be able to display them on your tablet. Books bought at the B&N online store may not display on the Sony readers.
Kobo [
http://www.kobobooks.com] also sells a touch screen eInk book reader and has their own app for Android. I don't know if the Kobo reader can render books you buy from the B&N online bookstore.
You only need one of these apps because they can all display ePub books except (cautionary) at one time only the nook app was able to display books bought from the B&N store. I don't know if Sony and Kobo have added support for B&N books yet or if they are still disabling that feature on their eInk book readers.
The one left off here is the Amazon Kindle. The Kindle app should work well on your tablet and the Kindle book reader is a good one, but as of this writing Amazon's only support for touch screen is in their app for various tablets.
