Thanks for all the replies. I have read about (and experimented with many of the work arounds which exist on this very useful forum). I guess I was a bit naive to expect that the reader would work as advertised, especially at this price point but what annoys me is that neither company appears to have any interest in replying to my support requests. To some extent I can understand why Kobo are not replying as they are no doubt overwhelmed by support requests but, IMHO, Borders have no excuse at all. For those of you not in Australia, customer service problems like this are a common and increasing problem here. Anyway rant over ;-)
