It's possible, but it requires a few scripting skill.
Basically, you have to append tp one DB the result of a selecty on the other, renumbering the items (BOOKS, AUTHORS, TAGS, PUBLISHERS, etc...) so that primary and foreign keys are not violated.
It's doable applying an offset to each ID.
