Amazon.co.uk schrieb mir am 5.8.2010:
"Unfortunately the newspapers Frankfurter Allgemeine and Le Monde are currently not available on the UK kindle store. Whether these subscriptions are made available to the UK market is totally up to the respective newspaper."
Danach befragt, antwortete die F.A.Z. schließlich am 30.8.2010 folgendermaßen:
"Kindle ist ein Produkt von AMAZONE. und diese Firma entscheidet was, wann, wo....."
Damit konfrontierte ich dann amazon.co.uk und gleichzeitig fragte ich nochmal, ob ich als britischer Kunde die Zeitungen denn nicht alternativ bei amazon.com kaufen könnte. Die Antwort:
"I have checked the .com Kindle store and UK customers are not given the option to purchase from the .com store instead UK customers are being redirected to purchase from the UK store where both papers are currently unavailable.
So I have escalated the issue to our technical team to try and get the papers available on the UK Kindle store."
Dann bin ich mal gespannt. Ist es den Technikern einfach nur zuviel Arbeit, die zwei fremdsprachigen Zeitungen anderswo anzubieten?
