Yet at the same time they weren't different enough; the all competed in the same ecological niche instead of looking for adjacent/overlapping but distinctive environs.
So we end up with one well-developed market segment with a dominant leader surrounded by a bunch of underdeveloped/underserved markets that are practically ignored.
