Dedicated e-ink readers already is a tiny niche. I remember reading a post here which I agree with entirely. The ghist of it is, rather than replacing dedicated readers, portable LCD-based devices such as the Asus EEE PC T91, iPhone/iPod Touch, Viliv X70, etc would bring ebooks to the attention of a much wider audience.
