The PB 903 uses a wacom touch interface (that sits beneath the eInk) , so working with a special 'pen'. The IQ has a 'normal' touch screen, just like any android smartphone..
So as long if you resist the temptation to buy price friendly older equipment you should not have trouble with glare. Erm the IPad is also terrible with glare (not to say any form of bright light).

what you mean as "IR detectors" ?
about wacom you have to consider that some time there is even a protective layer over the screen.. so I would not be so sure about glare..
