I suspect the issue with large-scale adoption of electronic magazines is the fact that they are largely funded through advertising. Will the advertisers perceive the electronic medium to be as "valueable" as paper copy, and be willing to pay as much for it, I wonder? If not, it could result in electronic subscriptions having to be condiderably more expensive than their paper equivalents.
