Post Rockwell, Carey: Tom Corbett Omnibus (Illustrated). v4. 26 Feb 2013

An omnibus edition of the Tom Corbett, Space Cadet series. These stories were immensely popular in the USA in the 1950s, appearing on television, radio, books, comic books, comic strips, coloring books, punch-out books and View-Master reels. The stories followed the adventures of Tom Corbett, Astro, and Roger Manning, cadets at the Space Academy as they train to become members of the elite Solar Guard. The action takes place at the Academy in classrooms and bunkroom, aboard their training ship the rocket cruiser Polaris, and on alien worlds, both within our solar system and in orbit around nearby stars.

The books in this volume are:
  • Stand By For Mars! (1952)
  • Danger in Deep Space (1953)
  • On the Trail of the Space Pirates (1953)
  • The Space Pioneers (1953)
  • The Revolt on Venus (1954)
  • Treachery in Outer Space (1954)
  • Sabotage in Space (1955)

There is a final book in the series, The Robot Rocket (1956) which is still under copyright protection, and hence not included in the omnibus. All the books are copiously illustrated, hence the large file size.

This is a wonderful series. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Note that several books in the series have been posted previously as separate books, but I wanted to create an ombinus edition of them all in one volume.

EDIT: 11 Feb 09

Corrected the author's name (which is a fictitious "house name") from "Corey Rockwell" to "Carey Rockwell". Made some minor formatting improvements, such as moving a "commercial" for the series from the end of one of the books in the middle of the volume to the very end of the volume. Uploaded v2.

EDIT: 7 Mar 09

Thoroughly proof-read, and many minor errors corrected as a result. Uploaded v3.

EDIT: 26 Feb 13

Dramatically improved the formatting. Converted to "curly quotes". Uploaded v4.
