I thought what I read of the retros was mostly really poor. I've only voted on the shorts, because I couldn't get all of the missing items in the other two short categories, but I thought 4 of the 5 short stories were just plain dire. Maybe that's a little strong: the Del Reys were so-so. Of the three novelettes I've read, the Robert E. Howard was the only one I thought worked effectively, and I think that just shows that horror was in a healthier state than SF in 1938.
