I agree with your spoiler completely RainingLemur, I found myself thinking the exact same things, except for one thing.

I believe Shane may be killed off by the zombies at the school they were stuck at, because they could not afford to depict a child killing off Shane on Prime-time television.. However, a kid being shot? That's cool, apparently.

I also got excited when I saw the barn. That would be an awesome mind blower for anyone who has not read the series.
