You can't buy Kindle books unless you have a Kindle registered on your account AND a US-issued credit card.
See here for alternative book sources. There are shops that sell LRF or EPUB files (which are readable on Sony), and most LIT, Mobi and eReader books can be converted for Sony with some extra work.
