I would read I, Robot if it only consisted of Asimov's "Three Laws of Robotics."

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Later revised by Asimov to include a zeroth law:

0. A robot may not harm humanity, or, by inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.

Sort of like the Zeroth Law of Thermodynamic being added to the other three.


That would get everything of merit in without having to read all the dated and silly stuff.

Then a lively discussion could ensue.
