Because library books are DRM'd from Overdrive, your best bet is to download/install Adobe Digital Editions on your PC (you can get access to ADE via your library's web site or from Adobe's site itself). You'll have to authorize your reader, but that's just a matter of creating an account with Adobe (using your e-mail address).

Then, when you download a library book, you select "open with Adobe Digital Reader." Adobe will open the reader and download the book to itself. Then, it's a simple matter to sideload the book to your reader.

Couple of things to remember:

1) The download from the library will be an .ascm file, that Calibre cannot read (it's like a ticket that you present to the Adobe program to get the ePub or PDF file to download). That's why you need to open the file with Adobe at the download time. If you save the .ascm file, it won't work anywhere.

2) Calibre's viewer cannot read these DRM books, you can only use Calibre to store the book. I find it's just easier to leave the book's in ADE and keep library books separate. Just don't have both Calibre and ADE open whilst you are working within your reader's files. It must just get all mucked up...

I've used both the Sony library and ADE to get library books. IMHO, it's much easier to use ADE. But, as always, YMMV.

Happy reading.
