Post van Dine, S.S.: Philo Vance Omnibus Vol2. v2. 17 Jul 2014

An omnibus edition of the final six "Philo Vance" mystery stories of S.S. van Dine, a pen-name of the American art critic and author Willard Huntington Wright (1888-1939). Although little known today, the Philo Vance books were extremely popular in the 1920s and 30s, and were later adapted for film and radio.

The books in the omnibus are:
  • The Dragon Murder Case (1933)
  • The Casino Murder Case (1934)
  • The Garden Murder Case (1935)
  • The Kidnap Murder Case (1936)
  • The Gracie Allen Murder Case (1938)
  • The Winter Murder Case (1939)

The volume also contains an essay by the author, "Twenty Rules For Writing Detective Stories", in which he lays out a set of guidelines for writing good detective fiction.

All these books have been posted previously (by myself) as separate books, but this omnibus edition is much better formatted. See the previously-uploaded Volume 1 for books 1-6 in the series.

Enjoy!
