Well, this is embarrassing. I just grabbed my grandson's Fire to see if the WritePad app had been updated to something more useful, and guess what? It didn't have the app. Evidently WritePad doesn't make an app for Kindle; or at least it isn't in the Kindle Store. What I bought for him was Smart Writing Tool - 7 Notes Premium. My apologies. It's the Smart Writing Tool - 7 Notes Premium app for the Kindle Fire that sucks, not WritePad. Still haven't tried that one on a Fire.
