Ich kenne das Problem, habe allerdings keine reine Calibre-Lösung dafür. Ich importiere solche PDF's vorher in den Mobipocket Creator und importiere dann die resultierende, interne HTML-Datei des Creators zur Umwandlung in Calibre. Da bleiben die Buchstaben dann eigentlich immer erhalten.
