For those of you still using Acrobat or Reader for your Adobe DRM'd PDFs...

Although this has been posted on our Content Server 3 migration page for the past year, you may not have caught this:

On Dec. 15th we will be decommissioning the old activation server that was used for Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader (versions 6 through 7).
While this will not have any impact on your ability to read content using Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader on existing machines, this will mean that you will no longer be able to migrate content from Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader to Adobe Digital Editions. This in turn means that if you change your system (hard drive goes bad, you Upgrade to Windows 7 etc...) you will no longer have access to your books.

If you wish to be able to access your content in the future, please install Adobe Digital Editions and authorize it to an AdobeID. This will perform a migration to ensure that your PDF files are compatible with ADE and RMSDK devices, as well as ensure that you have access to this content in the future.

Edit: The server was decommissioned on 11:00 AM (PST) 16 Dec 2009
