Anyone knows about a good PDF Rendering library in Java?

I'm trying to write a pdf2pdf tool, similar to pdf2lrf, for kindle dx. Now I've got most of the work one, but the library I'm using, IcePdf is very bad at rendering fonts with the free version, esp. character spacing.

Could anyone recommend a good PDF rendering library which is GPL?
