Friedrich Gerstäcker (* 10. Mai 1816 in Hamburg; † 31. Mai 1872 in Braunschweig) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller. Er ist vor allem durch seine Bücher über Nordamerika bekannt; seine Bestseller waren Die Regulatoren von Arkansas (1846) und Die Flußpiraten des Mississippi (1847).
