Die "Geschichte eines Mordes" ist eine Erzählung von Hermann Ungar.
Ungar wurde 1893 im mährischen Boskovice (Boskowitz) geboren. Er studierte ab 1911 in Berlin Orientalistik, danach Rechtswissenschaften in München und Prag. 1913 absolvierte er die juristische Staatsprüfung in Prag.
Von 1914 bis 1916 war er Soldat und erlitt eine schwere Kriegsverletzung. Danach arbeitete er als Rechtsanwalt und Theaterregisseur. 1922 wurde er Legationsrat an der tschechoslowakischen Botschaft in Berlin. Danach Ministerialkommissar in Prag. Er galt als Einzelgänger des Prager Kreises um Franz Kafka, Ernst Weiß und Max Brod.
Hermann Ungar starb, sechsunddreißig Jahre alt, 1929 an akuter Blinddarmentzündung in einem Prager Krankenhaus.
