Brawling, often humorous tales of seaman at sea in the period of the transition from sail to steam, by Morley Roberts (1847-1942). Roberts was a journalist, and a prolific writer of short stories. These tales were all published in magazines early 1900s, before being collected in this volume in 1927. It is a rare book, and I could find no original cover, so made one using a photograph of my own.
