Hmm - HTML or RTF. LIT's probably the closest DRM'd one as it's been broken for so long now. Interestingly, Baen Books doesn't use any DRM (and in fact gives away many books) and seems to be doing well with eBooks.

It is, but you loose out on things like Table of Contents, formatting, etc! There are various options when you decide to start seeing how best to start formatting them, though! (Keywords: "Book Designer", "Book Creator" & "txt2lrf" should describe three alternatives!)
