Unhappy K3 display issue only occurs in browser

I hope someone can help me with this

I dropped my K3 and broke the screen. I've replaced the glass and as long as I'm reading a book or document, the display is absolutely fine and everything works and looks the same way it always has.

When I try to load a page on the browser however, the text is washed out and randomly faded to the point of being unreadable. The list of bookmarks still loads in crisp, clear text, but the sites themselves do not.

I've taken the Kindle apart and reassembled it several times just to be sure I didn't accidentally misconnect anything, but it hasn't helped. I also connected it to my laptop and ran chkdsk on it to see if it could detect something wrong with the software but no luck there either.

If anyone has any additional troubleshooting steps I could try, I'd greatly appreciate it.
