Yes, I saw that it says in the top post that the device has to be disconnected when updating - and it was! In fact it wasn't even near the computer at the time
I think, the message came when asked to trust the computer, but I can't be sure, at any rate at a time when I wasn't installing or updating anything. Sorry I can't be clearer. Everything worked fine for months before updating today so I didn't really look carefully.
