In retrospect, I agree. After all, I've pretty much made that argument in the past.
Still, it can be fun to think about alternatives. That's particularly true of alternatives that are decades old and (at least seemingly) more sophisticated.
(And yes, I know that those seemingly more sophisticated options aren't always better in the long term.)
