A tool for organizing and maintaining library of scientific articles.
Used to download papers from ArXiv
. (Mainly from Astrophysics section, as evident by the title, but as that website contains electronic prints in various sections such as Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Biology and Finance, no reason why it shouldn't work on them, either).
It also supports NASA ADS Abstract Service
links for collecting metadata purpose. If there is an ArXiv e-print associated with a record, it will be downloaded, otherwise, Calibre will create a blank record with metadata only.
It downloads all the relevant metadata information, such as Title, Authors, Abstract, Publication Date, and Citation Info (stored in the Publisher column). Please note that the latter may not render correctly if the record is downloaded from ADS, and it is not an actual published paper, but rather a presentation, a proposal, a conference talk etc. Do make sure to check it afterwards.
As an added bonus (though not part of this plugin), Calibre is capable of exporting book records in BibTex format.
Download the attached zip file and install the plugin/add to context menu or toolbar/restart Calibre as described in the Introduction to plugins thread
Calibre v0.8.57 or later is required
