I don't think I could. My Kobo Glo died over Christmas, and I tried to go back to my Sony PRS-T1 (which I do actually prefer as a device). Couldn't do it. I've become ridiculously dependent on the light, not just for reading in dark places, but to enhance reading everywhere. I find it so much easier to read with light, often because it reduces the effect of shadows on the screen. Whilst I could still read in these situations, the light makes it much easier on my eyes.
