Smith, Adam: The Theory of Moral Sentiments v1.0 16 Jan 2013

Whilst many copies of this work are already freely available in ebook form, such as the one available at archive.org, they all appear to originate from a scan of a hard copy edition of the book. The OCR conversion quality is poor and the combination of the archaic 's' characters and generally poor print quality resulting in an epub with garbled characters and words making it almost unreadable.

The text for this epub was thus taken from the online version available at Wikisource, which is available under a Creative Commons (Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0) licence whereby reuse of the text seems to be unrestricted so long as its source is attributed. It is unclear which edition of the original work supplied the text for their site but the number of notes and annotations might indicate it is not the first edition.

In keeping with Wikisource, this document is also distributed under the same licence.

Feel free to redistribute or convert to other formats, but have the courtesy to leave this attribution in your finished document.
