No work that's currently in copyright in the US comes into the public domain until 1st January 2019.
Out of Africa was published in 1937. It won't be out of copyright in the US until 1st January 2033, just under twenty years time.
Coincidentally, that's the same as when it will come into the public domain in life+70 countries.
