I wouldn't call Mr. McDougall a blithering idiot, only misinformed! For instance Samsung has been shipping a Clover Trail based Ative Smart PC tablet for nearly a week now, when he said the chip is not ready. He also seems to be a bit confused about the various versions of Windows 8 (x86).
Happily, unlike Win7, if you don’t have an Active Directory network, the basic version should work just fine.
