Should the Lord of the Rings films been set in Iceland?

So I listened to this broadcast on NPR yesterday:

Song of the Vikings: Snorri and the Making of Norse Myths by Nancy Marie Brown


I did not know that JRR Tolkien was so inspired by the collection of Old Norse tales and legends compiled and written in the 13th Century by Icelander Snorri Sturluson, from overall themes right down to many of the character names found in Tolkien's works.
