Latex and emacs on the EDGE with control key

Just for the heck of it, I wanted a working latex/emacs installation on an e-reader and it is in fact rather straightforward on the Edge. The idea is to use the tablet side as an editor and the e-reader side as a viewer. Here are instructions:

install Complete Linux Installer from the market
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...nandroid&hl=en

I chose the debian package, but I guess it does not matter

the installation seems more useable in the command-line than with the graphical interface but for latex/emacs this is good enough

do
apt-get install latex
apt-get install emacs
apt-get install auctex

then you are set in principle, except for this annoying problem that the control key on an external keyboard does not seem to be working in terminal emulator

there is a straightforward workaround: install the version of connectbot where this problem has been fixed
http://sourceforge.net/projects/chdi...-ext-keyboard/
put the attached script "launch", which is just the starting script that is executed in the terminal emulator, in the root of your sdcard, remove the .txt extension and make it executable

start connectbot with a local connection
do

su
cd sdcard
sh launch

cd to your (dropsynced) directory that contains your latex files and emacs/latex them

on the e-reader side, the latest version of orionviewer for the edge is amazing for viewing the pdf's that you are creating both in portrait and landscape mode
