Some apps already have threads in the Android Device area, it seems to work fine, I don't see why that can't continue. Is there really a need for a separate section?

That said the best place to ask for and discuss new areas to MR is the feedback forum. Your request will be seen easier by the powers that be.

For example the Kindle Synch to Last Page Read thing has problems, not the least of which is losing your place if you look forward in the book. Once you've done that you can't reset it.
You can reset furthest read on your Manage Your Kindle page on Amazon's website.

Amazon and B&N don't have a way to review the apps (only the devices) so there's no public forum pushing for improvements.
The Kindle & Nook (and Kobo) apps have gotten plenty of discussion in the past the the Kindle and Nook forum sections. Those sections aren't just for discussion of the hardware devices.
