I can definitely relate to those pretentious forum replies. Just tune out all that self-righteous BS. It's software, we don't like this version and want to upgrade it, and we're finding out we can't, not because it's technically impossible (it's just a server setting) but because Amazon can't be bothered.
I'm stuck with my Oil of Olay billboard unless I can JB it, and I've been gathering all the information to do that. Some people seem to have JB'd the ad version fairly easily, and others like yourself met with failure.
I think this 'special offers' program has been pretty much of a flop for Amazon and will probably be dropped at some point. I wonder what will then happen to our existing ad-viewing models. Maybe they'll just continue to show an Oil of Olay ad forever...
