John Stevens Cabot Abbott (September 19, 1805 Ė June 17, 1877), an American historian, pastor, and pedagogical writer, was born in Brunswick, Maine to Jacob and Betsey Abbott.
Daniel Boone was the Cowper of the wilderness; a solitary man loving the silent companionship of the woods. He leads us across the Alleghanies to the fields of Kentucky, before any white manís foot had traversed those magnificent realms. No tale of romance could ever surpass his adventures with the Indians.
