Reading an ebook is necessarily more linear, I suppose, because you can't flip so easily backward and forward through the pages as you can with a paper book. On the whole, I find this to be a disadvantage of ebooks. I don't find that it makes reading more immersive. But I don't like to read in the bathtub, either, so maybe I'm just not interested in reading as an immersive experience.
