I think the numbers can fit. E.g.

Total 2009 = 2.4m
Q1 2010 = 1m
Q2 2010 = 1.5m
Q3 2010 = 2m
Q4 2010 = 3.5m

Obviously there is no way to know if these numbers even remotely approach reality, but it at least plausible.

It is possible Amazon intentionally leaked the numbers, but that still doesn't guarantee veracity.
